Sorry for the lack in updates. been busy ..well travelling and finishing client assignements on top of my day jobs. Sigh..

Had an excursion weekend to the Lion city, Singapore to meet some old friends but most importantly pick up some items for my new studio which should be ready by end of year. As with any visit to the Lion city, I will try and squeeze a trip to the book store.  Borders or Kinokuniya or Asia books. I went to the big one in Orchard road and managed to grab meself the Red Shoe Diaries which is a 2nd book by Joe McNally a follow up to The Moment It Clicks. An inspirational photographer with amazing portfolio of work and most of his work is  working with small flashes.

I also picked up another inspirational new book by Annie Lebowitz which happens to be on the same shelf as Joe McNally.

I had a fine meal at this place. From the starter to the main courses of lamb, lamb ( yes we had 2 kinds of it.) and served with briyani in shiny tin bowls and stone cooked naan, the taste was just right, just nice and just enough, at Zaika.

I was invited for lunch to this new place tucked above I-Mart, at the new building block facing Gadong market near the Kiulap roundabout. The minute you walked through the door, you can’t help but to focus your attention to the the slim aquariums that act as partition between the tables..nice! The food was so-so and the service was a bit slow, but then again they only opened recently so I give it a couple more weeks before they get the hang of things. At the end of our meal, two ornamental boxes were brought to our table, the small box containing toothpick and the bigger one containing a selection of mint spices, to cleanse and neutralise the mouth after the tandoori.? I woke up at 545 am today to take part in the SMARTER 5 Hills Challenge. Overall; Tasek was a breather and Subok was a ‘lunge’ step workout and Markucing like always is a mini Shahbandar. Finally after completing Bukit Markucing in the heat of the sun, at 1013 HRS, my legs decided 3 Hills would do. (Visit anakbrunei, re:locate, aku and stupidlogic for more…..)

Something caught my eye at 3rd Hill…..

Yes, this was participants from Kg Subok who took part, a nini with her grandchildren and she was fast walking!! Amazing. What’s your excuse for not joining???
